The Human Psyche
The human psyche refers to the conscious mind, the subconscious mind, and the unconscious mind. It's the whole of the human mind that helps us navigate through life.
The conscious mind is where "the good" and "the bad" angel communicate. In the conscious mind we have conversations with ourselves. Here, our thoughts and decisions are mostly deliberate.
The subconscious mind is where the stronger angel (the one that wins all the arguments) resides. It delivers our immediate reactions to life as it comes at us. This is where we learn about which angel (voice) we feed most. Here there is only one voice. Our thoughts and decisions are mostly reactive and based on a compilation of our previous experiences.
The unconscious mind is the part of the mind that is running all the time. It controls our body's functions. Breathing is the only thing we do with both the conscious and unconscious mind.
Understanding the development of the human psyche is arguably the most important thing a person can learn about. It's the door to knowing one's self.
While the human psyche constantly evolves as we take in new information and have new experiences, the bulk of our psyche is developed through-out early childhood and becomes harder to change as we get older.
We are born with personality traits; but our perspective of life - positive or negative - is formed by our geographical location, parents, family, peers, etc.
So if you had been born on the other side of the globe to different parents, with a different family and friends, you would likely have different beliefs and perspectives.
